TAVIANI FIRENZE was born from a lifelong fascination with leather, a love for craftsmanship, and a desire to create something that is at once timeless, refined, and deeply human.

From a young age, I was surrounded by elegance and artistry. My grandmother’s collection of leather bags captured my imagination — not as status symbols, but as objects that conveyed care, attention, and quiet sophistication. Growing up between England, Italy, and France, I absorbed a unique blend of cultures and perspectives. My father, an Italian entrepreneur, designed and refurbished restaurants, and my mother, a French homemaker, nurtured a sense of beauty and precision in daily life. These influences shaped the foundation of my aesthetic sensibility.

My professional path took me through retail, from sportswear to men’s formal wear and made-to-measure clothing. Each experience deepened my understanding of design, quality, and what people value in objects they carry every day. Yet, leather had always remained a fascination waiting to be explored.

At 37, I moved to Vietnam. There, leather became more than an interest — it became a hobby, a craft, and a personal obsession. With no formal training, I taught myself through trial and error, learning from the internet, videos, and my own hands. Each mistake became a lesson, every piece a testament to patience, precision, and the slow transformation of a simple material into something enduring. It was through this process that I discovered not only the mechanics of leatherwork but the philosophy of making — the dedication, discipline, and care that go into creating something truly valuable.
After four years in Vietnam, I returned to Europe and continued to pursue this passion alongside my retail career. I would wake up two hours early each day and work late into the night, devoting every available moment to designing, experimenting, and refining. Leather became my meditation, my obsession, and eventually, my purpose.
The vision for TAVIANI FIRENZE began to take shape: a brand that would marry Italian craftsmanship with Japanese-inspired refinement, producing leather goods that honor both the human touch and the pursuit of perfection. Initially, I considered a made-to-order approach, but I soon realized that creating small, curated collections would allow more people to experience the artistry while preserving quality, exclusivity, and attention to detail. Today, each collection consists of carefully designed models, offered in limited quantities and colors, handcrafted in Italy, and produced in collaboration with select ateliers that share the brand’s vision.

Italy, with its centuries-old heritage of craftsmanship, was a natural choice for production. In a time when artisanal skills risk being lost to industrialization and office jobs, TAVIANI FIRENZE seeks to honor the value of handmade work, preserving the tactile expertise of skilled artisans. Japan, in turn, provides the philosophical framework: a culture that has long mastered patience, precision, and subtlety. The fusion of these traditions allows TAVIANI FIRENZE to produce pieces that are both materially exquisite and conceptually refined, where every line, stitch, and proportion carries intention.
Creating TAVIANI FIRENZE was not an overnight decision. Over two years, I meticulously planned, sourced materials exclusively from Italy, identified ateliers that could bring my vision to life, and refined every aspect of the brand — from design and production to visual identity and storytelling. At 44, after years of dedication, learning, and experimentation, TAVIANI FIRENZE was officially launched.
The brand is intentionally small, focused, and intimate. We produce only a handful of models, with a limited number of pieces per model, ensuring that every item receives personal attention and retains its handcrafted integrity. The price of our products reflects this dedication: the cost of skilled Italian labor, quality materials, and low production volume. Every bag is an investment in craftsmanship, quality, and enduring design.
