How TAVIANI FIRENZE Was Born: A Story of Craft, Heritage, and Obsession
How do you create a brand?
For me, the answer wasn’t a business plan or a sudden idea — it was a journey that unfolded over years, countries, and unexpected moments.
I grew up surrounded by small fragments of beauty: my grandmother’s leather bags, my father’s Italian approach to craft and design, and the quiet refinement my French mother brought into daily life. I didn’t realize at the time that these details were shaping my eye, my taste, and the way I understood quality.
My career in retail took me from sportswear to men’s formalwear and made-to-measure. I learned how people interact with the objects they carry every day. I learned what good materials feel like — and what they don’t.

But the real turning point happened much later, at 37, when I moved to Vietnam. That’s where I picked up a piece of leather for the first time with the intention of actually making something. I had no training. No roadmap. Just curiosity… and a lot of patience.
I spent hours teaching myself, experimenting, failing, trying again. Those moments in Vietnam were the beginning of a deeper connection to craft — not just the final product, but the discipline, the focus, and the quiet satisfaction that comes from working with your hands.
A glimpse into the early stages of crafting our leather creations:

Years later, when I returned to Europe, leatherwork came with me. It became part of my routine. Early mornings, late evenings, and every spare moment in between. Little by little, a clearer vision began to grow.
I imagined a brand that combined two worlds that have shaped me the most:
Italian craftsmanship and Japanese refinement.
A brand built on patience, intention, and attention to detail.
A brand that didn’t chase trends, but celebrated timelessness.
That vision became TAVIANI FIRENZE.
Today, the collections are small, the quantities limited, and every piece is handcrafted in Italy using materials sourced exclusively from Italian suppliers. Not because it’s easier — but because it’s the only way the work feels honest to me.
This blog is where I share that journey.
Not the polished version, but the real one — the process, the evolution, the inspiration, and the philosophy behind every piece.
TAVIANI FIRENZE exists because some things deserve time.
Some things deserve intention.
And some things deserve to be made with both hands and heart.
